Cinchfy ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (if using social login) your profile information from the authentication provider.
Content You Provide: Job posting text, resume text, and questionnaire answers that you submit for analysis. This content is processed to deliver our Service and stored with your reports.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, analysis count, and application tracker activity.
Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial information on our servers. We only store your Stripe customer ID.
We use your data to: (a) provide and improve the Service; (b) process AI analyses using the provider you select; (c) generate tailored resumes and cover letters; (d) manage your subscription and billing; (e) communicate service updates; and (f) prevent abuse and ensure security.
When you run an analysis or generate documents using a cloud AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI), your job posting text and resume text are sent to that provider's API for processing. Each provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. When using the "Local Analysis" option, your data is processed entirely in the browser and is not sent to any external service.
Your data is stored securely in our database hosted on Neon (PostgreSQL). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and follow security best practices. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Your analysis reports, application data, and account information are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Free plan users with inactive accounts may have their data deleted after 12 months of inactivity.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We store your theme preference (light/dark mode) in local storage. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising trackers.
You have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) correct inaccurate data; (c) request deletion of your data; (d) export your data; (e) withdraw consent for data processing; and (f) lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
We use the following third-party services: Stripe for payment processing, Neon for database hosting, Better Auth for authentication, and various AI providers for analysis. Each service has its own privacy policy.
The Cinchfy Chrome Extension collects data only when you explicitly click "Cinchfy This Job" or "Autofill" — there is no background or passive data collection.
When you click "Cinchfy This Job" on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, or Lever, the extension reads job posting text, URL, job title, and company name. This data is sent to cinchfy.com/api/analyze over HTTPS.
When you click "Autofill" on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, or iCIMS application forms, the extension reads form field labels and types (not their values) to map fields for autofill. This metadata is sent to cinchfy.com/api/career/autofill over HTTPS.
The extension stores your API token, email address, subscription tier, and analysis count in chrome.storage.sync. This data is transmitted over HTTPS and protected by Chrome's standard storage mechanisms. It is not shared with third parties by Cinchfy.
When you trigger an analysis, job posting text is sent to your chosen AI provider (same disclosure as Section 4).
Cinchfy's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The Service is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
